This post relates to one of my enterprises that offers getting-online solutions for Small businesses worldwide.
Google is a remarkable company. When I decided to include Google Apps setup in the small business email package that I am in the process of selling, I had a few things in mind:
remarkable companies do not only make great products. They also keep improving them.
the improvements of remarkable products is based largly on user feedback. In fact, it is this user-centeredness that makes any product (or company) truly remarkable.
the reason the product is put out in the marketplace is to make money, no doubt, but truly remarkable companies (and their products) tend to focus more on servicing their customers to the best of their understanding and ability. The profits are rightly considered to be a function of their service. The company does not service them to make a profit, it seems, but it makes a profit because it serves the market so bloody well.

“It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked through understanding.”
- Kahlil Gibran
I have been looking into this quite seriously now. And I realize the importance of it like never before.
I have known before that a couple of lines written by someone thousands of miles away from where you are, can impact and end up changing your life forever. Say it once more, just to realize the significance of this. Your life. Changed. Forever.
And I am talking about someone writing a few lines in his or her free time. Now imagine if someone builds a library in a community? A school? Arranges vocational training courses? With no cost to you i.e. for free?
The impact and the subsequent drip-drip (!!) will and probably does, change the world.
Hamid Mir went to refugee camps in Nowshera and Mardan. These refugee camps are home to roughly ten thousand families that were displaced during the ongoing operations in our very ow Bajaur and what have you.
I did not know the conditions there are so depolorable that children are dying; three have died already, and why? Because of easily curable diseases such as Diarreha. And why was not there medicine for this disease? Because there are too many refugees and not enough supply.
It is quite easy to see where we ought to fit in.
I have started collecting money to buy medicine to supply to refugee camps north of Peshawar. Your support (by raising awareness of this issue, raising money to donate etc) is not only welcome, but is actually needed.
Google Apps happen to be one of the two main products that I intend to wrap into one online account, God be willing.
Here is a great primer for the Google Apps and a very brief introduction to the flexibility and convenience of using Google Apps, including the all-too-famous Gmail (on your domain name e.g. user@youdomain.com rather than user@gmail.com etc).
