The president of the United States of America, Barack Hussien Obama took a mangled oath yesterday, and I am sure you will see the irony of the ever-so-eloquont Obama mess up the last words he said as president-elect. O well, such is life.
But the really interesting bit is the new Whitehouse website. And not surprisingly – given the mileage Mr. Obama got from his online campaign – the Whitehouse website, on its main page, features a blog. Blogging – the word itself even – has finally arrived (not that anyone is doubting that anymore). Welcome to our side, Mr. Obama, I hope you do visit my blog and leave comments and everything. Heck, I will link to your blog without the nofollow. Hmmm…
Jokes aside, this step is important.
Using all means to reach a consensus, to gather feedback and to impart thought, this is what good governance relies upon. Change certainly has come to the White House. And from a web designer’s perspective at least, the change has been good so far.
I have come a long way from thinking of America as another country. Of all the countries in the world, America can not be called that anymore, and a Pakistani can not afford to consider America as a geographical location thousands of miles away. Being the superpower that America still is, the country exerts all there is to exert and I personally believe that any conscious individual should be aware of not only the National political scene, but the International one as well.
I have subscribed to the White house RSS feed. :P
I am Momekh and I am the guy behind this blog. I live in Lahore, Pakistan. I earned my first 12,000 rupees from a website I designed back in 1999, and have had the pleasure of owning a business, very much unrelated to websites design, that generated 9 Million rupees in one year...
Brother, its a nice post. Since childhood i kept on hearing that “Expectation is the mother of all screw-ups” but for now, i think “Unawareness is the mother of all screw-ups”. Blogging is a really active mean of spreading news, sharing thoughts and creating perception etc. It should be promoted. Through your blog please keep on spreading all sorts of awareness among masses.
Right on!
