Predicting the Future

Where will you be three years from now?

It is October of 2009 right now. Who will you be on October 2012?

Yes, yes, I know, no one knows. Just like no one in a job knows where exactly will the next three years take him or her: a promotion in the same job, a demotion due to some unforeseen accident or a different job altogether. The possibilities are obviously endless. But still, the person would have a ‘fair’ idea where he or she will be after three years, if things remain as is. And that is a very big, flat-out slap in your face.

You do have a fair idea where you will be three years from now, only if you think about it. Are you happy with this prediction? Do you like what you see?

Here’s something that will change your future: Go to the future, imagine how it probably would pan out, and what you can do now to change it to make it better, for you and for the ones around you. You start a small little thing right now, a small routine you do everyday, and after three years, the compound effect becomes a story to be told! Looked at from this perspective, the future becomes quite exciting.

Remember, the easiest way to predict the future is to make it yourself. What can you start right now, that will have a great effect on your life three years later? You will be surprised as to how much of the future is made in the past.
